Jackson and Back in 37 hours

We blasted down to Jackson to catch the KGB productions premiere of “Wyoming Triumph”. Left Bozeman at 9am with the whole kit and caboodle in tow.

Sam, Chris and the rest of our new friends at KGB picked a funky unique venue to match their unique vibe. Wyoming Triumph was a unique shred flick because it had a heavy dose of adventure mixed in with a story line that basically surrounded their home stomping grounds. We dig…

In contrast to it’s rep of brimming with j-holes & jongs, Jackson Hole is deep with cool people and good times. Juan had never been to Jackson and left counting down the days till his return.

While we did get a real slice of Jackson culture in our 20 hours of daylight spent? We did have quite a few conversations about how Jackson has some cowboy left in ‘er. It was a refreshing break from the struggle to become Boulder that is Bozeman.

The custom KGB tees we made were milled from a new organic cotton jersey fabric we just got in a few weeks ago. We were hesitant to bring such a new fabric out without much testing, but they could not have turned out better! Shown below alongside our good friend Tommie’s Dedicate hats and tees. If you have not heard of Dedicate, take a moment to see how sick his hats and clothes are.

The show and the blast down were a jam! We were stoked to see the hard work KGB put in and how it worked its way into a really solid result. We got to see some of our favorite team athletes, meet new ones and get our clothes into the hands of some Jackson residents.

After a long construction-zone filled drive from Bozeman we made it to Boise for the 2011 NorthWest Winter Film Festival , and it went off! Event creator Mike McLeod put together a show and series of events that will be remembered for years to come. From the get go, the support from Ski Idaho, Visit Idaho and 44 North made the event exciting and easy to swallow.

All four films screened were legit; Level 1′s “After Dark” was beyond epic - Toy Soldier Productions “Set Your Sights” still gets better every time - Inspired Media’s “Retallack” made us want to ski – Stept Productions “Weight” is by far the year’s heaviest film

Athletes Wiley Miller, ShayLee, Luke Tanaka, Tim Durtschi, Dash Kamp, Shea Flynn, Ben Moxham, Clayton Villa and Cam Riley all showed up and supported their film performances to the fan’s delight. The movies were lead by an athlete signing party at Boise’s EcoLounge.

Following the phenomenal showing, only a colossal after party could ensue. NWWFF Mixed fans, athletes and industry into one big rowdy HathBanger fueled dance party.

After a great late night and some solid downtown Boise street food we started the long roll back to Bozeman. On the way out we got to see the Boise State Fansanity!!

Missions and Statements

–Last spring, after securing a source for an American waste-based fabric we tossed around a lot of themes and schemes for a catalog before realizing that printing a paper catalog (recycled or not) would be going against the grain.

–When we started Phar North our goal was simple enough, create a brand that goes beyond swapping carbon credits or using sustainable fabrics. By milling, sewing and decorating exclusively in the USA we aim to save carbon emissions from being spewed over the ocean, put dollars into american workers hand’s and show a dedication to protecting alpine climates. So far we think we have been on point.

–We met up with friend and ultra-talented pic-taker Reid Morth in hopes of setting up three shots that would depict the 100% recycled and domestically produced sweats. For one shot we hoped we could highlight another good use of trash. We ended up at Pacific Steel and Recycling in Bozeman, MT where they offer services to clean up your job site and use as much of the recyclable materials as possible. Nothing trashy about that.

–When people meet the crew for the first time they are often surprised. We are not a bunch of Juggalos or flag/gun toting tea baggers. We are just a bunch of hate free homies looking to give back and make some nice clothes. The Pro-America crowd has a stigma riding shotgun. Phar North wants to shatter that. We are all about making Regressive American Textiles, moving forward while looking back. Go ‘Merica!

Stepping Into The Fall

As summer winds down and the days get shorter up North we have been churning out products on our site.

The 2011 fall/winter line of Phar North apparel is exactly where we want it to be – packed full of sustainable and durable products. We adjusted most of our cuts this year to be more conducive to alpine sports; slim and long.

But we still don’t understand dubstep.

A Beartooth Bangerang

A weekend of camping and shredding the Beartooths was the mission. ON3P skis contacted us about sponsoring a summertime big mountain and park jam, and we jumped on it. We packed up the truck and rolled out with PN team member and RadBot Steve Popovich, Pappa J-Pops.

We met fellow RadBot and PN athlete Pat Cowan outside Red Lodge and staked a fresh camp right on the river, deep in the heart of Grizzly Bear Country.

After dark

We woke to a gorgeous morning and Pat was happy about it, so he went out and stomped some legit sw cork 5s

The Big Mountain Comp Went off on Saturday morning, the park was included in the venue.

Shred the wall hard, then stomp your tricks; our kind of comp for sure.

Our main Man J-Pops took the honors in the Big Mountain Jam with clean slays up top and solid amplitude off the hit.
